The Best Family Attractions in Orlando

The weather in Orlando is sunny all year round which means it’s always a good time to visit the most welcoming city in the United States.

Tropical beach, Maya Bay, Thailand

When it comes to Orlando family attractions, Disney World is obviously one of the places you have to see. You could spend two weeks here and still not get to see everything that this entertainment complex has to offer. We’re going to ignore Disney World in this list though.

But you shouldn’t think that there is nothing else to see in Orlando. You could consider wine tasting, golfing and a number of water activities that will keep the entire family occupied throughout your vacation.

Universal Orlando

Yes, there’s a Universal Studios in Orlando as well. Most people do not even know about this since the only thing they associate with theme parks in Orlando is Disney World. There’s the Islands of Adventure with a special zone for kids and the Seuss Landing which is based the Dr. Seuss books. There’s a Grinchmas celebration in December too if you happen to be there at the time.

CityWalk will be able to cater to all of your entertainment and shopping needs. Kids are going to have a lot of fun at the theme restaurants here too.

Lot of Choices

There are a number of other attractions in Orlando too. If you haven’t visited Miami, you could go on a one day tour of Miami and have a look at one of the most upbeat cities on the east coast. Gatorland is another exciting place to visit. It’s described as the alligator capital of the world. Spread over 110 acres, you are going to see a lot of wildlife for sure.

Additional Activities

There are a number of activities for grownups in Orlando too. Apart from the parks and museum, there’s the Haunted Grimm House of Old Towne which has dark, scary rooms and unscripted, sudden run-ins with live actors in different disguises. Then there’s the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium which is one of the strangest and funniest places you will ever visit.

There’s WonderWorks too which is a completely different type of attraction. It has definitely been made for the mind. It dares to stretch your imagination while you explore all of its interactive exhibits. This is also where you are going to experience the only “upside down” entertainment in Orlando.

And lastly, there’s Train Land International which is exactly what the “conductor” ordered for anyone who is into collecting model trains. The museum has a fantastic collection of miniature train models and a lot of them are in action even though they are over a 100 years old.

So you see, there is just so much more to do in this city if you will carefully plan your visit. Unless you plan everything out properly, you will only be confused with the myriad of choices. Go online or get a map and start planning your vacation to Orlando right away. It’s the city where you can do anything under the sun, perhaps under the moon too.
